Dimitrios Saratzis is an experienced energy analyst and modeller, currently working as a Senior Analyst in Thomson Reuter’s Research and Forecast team. He primarily focuses on the analysis of the UK and European Gas Markets and on developing supply and demand forecasting models. He holds a MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Greece where he specialised in Power Systems and Power Economics and an MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School where he was awarded with the “Channoil Cass Prize” for graduating top of his class. For his master thesis he joined MSCI’s (formerly Morgan Stanley Capital International) New Product Research Division and focused on the development of an optimal portfolio of MSCI equity indexes in a dynamic variance-covariance setting. He has also worked as a Data Researcher in Bloomberg’s Earning Estimates team tracking commodity related companies and over the last year of his MEng he was part of the Power Systems Laboratory team responsible for the automation of Crete’s island power system. He has also worked as an engineer in a renewable energy generation company and has also trained on Financial Derivatives analysis and pricing at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
